Food For Thought: Self Love Conquers All Insecurity
The other day I came across this piece on self love in relation to jealousy and decided to share it with you guys, I hope it provides some food for thought.
"Jealousy is simply and clearly the fear that you do not have value. Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point - that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative - self-value. If you can't love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think its a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them."

Video of the Week: Four Kornerz
This week, I have decided to deicate my video of the week to a group called Four Kornerz, if you have not heard of them you need to check them out now (www.fourkornerz.com)
Last week Wednesday, myself and a few friends headed down to Venue 229 to watch a one off live performance show they were doing and it was such an amazing show. Now I have always known about Four Kornerz since day but its only in the last couple of years that I have properly started getting into there music after being recommended to buy their album by my friend Mayah but after going to their concert last night, I’ve become a huge fan.
Its been awhile since I have been to a concert , unfortunately I had two other concerts planned to attend for April but both of them was a flop but this concert made up for missing the other two. The venue had a nice intimate feel and definitely helped to create the atmosphere for the evening.
From the second they came on stage till the end of their performance the energy was non stop, their crowd interaction was brilliant and they definitely had everyone on the dance floor showing off their moves. I hope they do another one soon and I cant wait till they drop their new album but for now, I will be fine listening to their old album and check out the track below…
Are You Creating an IMPACT?
Hey Hey,
I know I've been really bad the last month or so when it comes to blogging but I've been too busy and everytime I start a post I never get round to finishing it. I actually started some really good post as well but oh well I’m back and ready to get my blogging game back on... The last couple of weeks have been eventful and slightly stressful but I've managed to have some really good times.
In the last month, I have planned 3 completely different events and from each event I have been able to grow and learn from them. (for those of you who don’t know, I am an Events Manager, so if you need an event planned just holla.. *Self Plugging lol*)
But my favourite event had to be the last event that took place on Easter Saturday I.M.P.A.C.T Presents "DA WAY OUT".
“DA WAY OUT” was a gospel concert featuring a range of underground and known gospel artists and dancers aimed at young people within the local community. The aim of the concert was to reach out to the local community and inspire the youth of today to keep working towards there God Given gifts and talents.
The idea of putting on an event came after myself and a few friends came together late last year and realized that there was not a lot of events taking place within the local community that help to inspire the youth. As time went on a team called I.M.P.A.C.T was formed and together the team grew in numbers and we also matured together as a group finding a bond and in essence becoming a little family.
The lead up to the event was stressful and even on the night before the event we was faced with obstablecs but despite all the was going on you could feel the good atmosphere in the air and on the night of the concert the atmosphere was mind blowing, I’m not even hyping the event because I done it, I’m just telling you how it was.
The night had a wide range of performing acts such as; rappers, mcs, singers, poets and dancers each bringing their own energy to the stage and adding to the good atmosphere. It was amazing to see some unexpected people go on stage to perform with some much talent and confidence that you didn’t even know they had.
As well as performances, prizes were also given away such as an ipod, P'hoshi t-shirts and a ticket to four kornerz concert and people had the chance to show off their dance moves and even though the crowd consisted of mainly young people there was a Granmum in the audience who was putting the young people to shame with her little skanks lol.. But it was good to see so many young people coming together and having a good time with one another without any trouble taking place. The aim of the night was for people to leave inspired and it really touched my heart when I heard reviews from people about the event because it made me see that what we had planned to achieve was achieved.
I think what I enjoyed most about this event was that it came at a time when I was tired and fed up about certain situations going on around me and even though at times I would have loved to just used my free time to do my own things I still put in 100% knowing that I was doing something to benefit others. Sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives and situations that we never seem to think about that person who is going through something 100x worse than us or the person who needs to be encouraged to keep on working towards their dream. It felt good to know that I gave something back to my community and helped to inspire people to go out there and achieve whatever it is that they want to achieve in life even if it was just one person.
If I get a chance, I will put up some pictures from the concert but for now, you can check out:
Facebook Page: I.M.P.A.C.T Youth or Twitter: @impactyouthldn to find out more information about I.M.P.A.C.T and look out for future events..
I’m gonna sign out with my favourite song of the night: Enjoy!!
